My incredulity is too great to be expressed.

My mom, while checking her old AOL email account (I set her up with a Gmail account, but the transition has not been complete) got an email in German.

Polyglot that she is, this piqued her interest a fair bit. Regardless of the fact that she didn't know who sent her the email, she opened the attached file.

Did I mention that she was using a laptop running Windows 2000? Well, she was.

Long story short, she now has a virus running helter-skelter through her hard drive. Firefox might be pleasantly secure, but there's not much protection when you basically invite malicious code in.

I love being a smug virus-free Mac-using bastard.
