Music is my life
Not a whole lot has been going on. Yesterday we had a few doctor's appointments, about one per family member, and our doctors are conveniently an hour's drive away, so that took up most of the day.
I've been listening to a lot of music. My last.FM profile is currently saying that I've played 4,456 tracks since October 27th. And in case you were wondering, here are my current stats in iTunes:
- 7,519 songs
- 20.2 days
- 27.24 GB
- 542 artists
- 774 albums
My most recent purchase on the iTMS was The White Stripes' new album, Get Behind Me Satan. This is the first time I've seen a PDF on the iTMS, although I already knew you could import them into iTunes.
Update: It's a cool album. Apparently it was recorded in only two weeks, which is believable. I don't mean that in a bad way.
It's totally different from everything they've done so far. That's bad and good. It's not the hard rocking it used to be, but it is definitely worth listening to. Bottom line: I like it.

well that was interesting (Gabo Repeating herself like 4 freakin' times) but what ipod do you have doug...the 40GB? and what bitrate are you putting your songs on? w/e, it just seems like you have too many songs.lol
I actually upgraded from my old second-generation 20 GB to the first-revision 60 GB iPod photo last November. It's pretty sweet. I have... Let me grab the specs from iPhoto... 2,514 photos, for a total of 3,786 MB (or about 3.7 GB) loaded on it.
Well, that's a tricky question. I had been ripping most of my CD's as 160 kbps mp3s, but then Apple introduced the AAC codex. Combined with all of the music I buy on the iTMS, the majority of my music is mostly 128 kbps AACs.
That said, there are some oddities. I have some audiobooks and suchlike at something crazy like 32 kbps mp3 (you don't need very high quality for speaking), as well as some 320 kpbs AAC files (for more special stuff).
There's a fair mix of stuff, especially now that some movies are getting in there, too.
Anecdote: My sister somehow, god only knows how, actually managed to find some mp2s on the internet. I only figured it out when they wouldn't transfer to her iPod.
