Have a Halloween

It's up to you if you want it happy or not.

My Halloween plans currently consist of nothing. I'm too old to go trick-or-treating and I hate parties (the fact that I haven't been invited to any is completely irrelevant).

Instead, I've taken this day to prepare things for NaNoWriMo, which I'm sure I don't need to remind you starts tomorrow. My writing space is looking pretty good, and I've got good hopes for productivity. I fully intend to go all the way this time.

When I tell someone that intend on writing a 50,000 word novel in a month, the reaction is either:

  1. You're a lunatic.
  2. Are you actually going to finish this time?

I'm happy to tell you that the answer to both those questions is yes. And I do realize that only of those was actually a question.

You ought to read my friend B's post on his own aspirations. He puts it much better than I ever could. His entry is looking like it's going to be pretty humbling.

As for me, I am feeling very expectant. I really can't wait to start. I haven't been doing what my friends did in preparation -- no character sketches or modeling. On the one hand it might make for a more free-form story. On the other, if I don't know what I'm doing, I might end up writing myself into a corner. We'll have to see how it goes.

So: Tomorrow, The Adventures of Little Timmy goes live.

Hey yeah Halloween Dinner. Dinner in costume. Fun, right? Not when it gets postponed.

P.S. You said you were going to finish last time, too.

Actually, no. I said that I'd try to.

This time I just am going to do it, forget trying.

Yes, they were good times. Thanks anyway.

Oh, and Ben: I had better, if I don't, I may not graduate. The joys of a graduation project.
