It's (almost) that time again

The National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo for short) website relaunched today. For those of you who don't know what that is, here's an excerpt from What is NaNoWriMo?:

National Novel Writing Month is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to novel writing. Participants begin writing November 1. The goal is to write a 175-page (50,000-word) novel by midnight, November 30.

I tried my hand at writing a novel last year and got... Well, not very far. It's bad timing for me; November is exams month, and exams take precedence.

I'm going to try again this year. I'm not sure what I'm going to write about; I have two things in mind. One is semi-autobiographical, the other is a piece of fiction that's been kicking around my head for years.

Any thoughts on what you'd like to see?

Oh, and if you want to see what I wrote last year, it's called Rome Didn't Burn in a Day. Mind you, it's unfinished, and a lot of the links/images are probably broken.

Well...if it is a novel it has to be fiction. I would like to see something about you personally...but fictionalized. Unless the other idea is better. Are you going to blog the whole thing? I am going to be blogging my efforts.

Like I said, it would be semi-autobiographical, so yes, it would be fictionalized.

As for which idea is better, well, the pure-fiction one has a lot more polish to it. It would be a more comedic enterprise. The other would be more... Well, I'd try to make it funny, but more, er, "poignant" than funny.

Yes, I will be blogging my efforts. I started working on making a nice-looking blog earlier tonight.

Id rather like to see a semi-autobiographical bit of work, and really, will you finish this one, not just leave it hanging like last year?

I don't usually start something with the intention of failing.
